June Rosamond Scobey Kettinger, age 95, of Columbus, MS, passed away February 21, 2012, at Trinity Healthcare. Graveside services will be Saturday, February 25, 2012, at 11:00 AM at Memorial Gardens of Columbus with Rev. Gary Shelton officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, February 25, 2012, from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home.

Mrs. Kettinger was born June 22, 1916, in Dickey, ND, to the late Arthur R. and Jessie Craft Scobey. She received her education and degree in business administration from the Michigan schools and was employed by the International Seal & Lock Company, who supplied car seals to all the railroads in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and other foreign countries. She was secretary to the Vice President. She married Captain Merton L. Kettinger in 1941 and moved to Colorado Springs, CO, where her husband was stationed until he was sent overseas. After WWII they moved to Rochester, IN, Capt. Kettinger was called to serve in Korea, afterwards they moved to Columbus, MS, where she was employed with the Department of Human Relations. Mrs. Kettinger was a member of First Independent Methodist Church where she served as Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, Board of Stewards, treasurer, and missionary treasurer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Merton L. Kettinger, daughter, Nancy Carol Kettinger, brothers, Harry, John, Harlan, Spencer, and Clinton, and sisters, Lelia, Florence, Jessie, Ruth, and Helen.

Survivors include her son, Michael Alan Kettinger and his wife Rose of Streamwood, IL, granddaughter, Tammy Klevin and her husband Peter of Schaumburg, IL, grandson, Jeffrey Kettinger and his wife Jennifer of Bartlett, IL, and great grandchildren, Kyle and Ella Kettinger of Bartlett, IL.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
